Let the decimal expansion of n be abcd...; then a(n) = {a*bcd... + b*acd... + c*abc... + ...} + {ab*cd} + ... . That is, a(n)=sum over all the digit strings of the product (number obtained by deleting a digit string) * (deleted digit string).
