Reading from Neil's recent article "My Favorite Integer Sequences," I came
across

   The amazing coincidences of the Monstrous Moonshine investigations make
   it difficult to say that a particular sequence, no matter how obsure,
   will never be of interest.

Is there a good story behind this?
Can someone share it with the rest of us?
