If there a published sequence that's wrong, then I put it
in the database with keyword "dead", to help
anyone who looks it up.

Good dictionaries do the same thing with misspelled or erroneous words.

Of course i give a pointer to the correct version.

Another reason for doing this is to forestall people from submitting
such sequences
