Allowing regular expressions in lookups?

It could be another feature of the Advanced Search
web page - that's a good idea

Maybe this could be a project for a student to do next
summer

There are two versions:

1.   The search only looks at individual lines in the database

2.   The search looks at all the lines belonging to a 
particular sequence

1. would be easy and fast, 2. would require loading each sequence
in turn into awk and running th search and would be slower.  But i guess
2. is what is needed.
