hmm,
a bit more than that : the sequences in http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/selfsimilar.html
are 1-dimensionally fractal, in a sawtooth fashion ;
these are lines with wrigles that repeat copies on ever larger scales.
I was looking at 2D stuff like below : both sequence term a(k) and index k together:
