On the subject of automatical production of synth sound files
there is csound (or at least there was when I was interested in
that sort of thing 7 years ago). You feed it an ASCII file which
consists of sortofa program, and it can spew out WAV format.
It is possible to generate the weirdest sound spectra with it,
a very flexible synthesizer, so to speak.
