Is this a standard notation for multisets?  I haven't seen it before, but I haven't read much about multisets.  I do know that in non-mathematical writing, it's common to use x to indicate repetition, and the number of repetitions usually comes before the x.  So "1x(n-2)" is ambiguous.  I think "(n-2)x 1" would be clearer.  You could also just put "1, 1, ..., 1"; the number of 1s can be inferred from the fact that the multiset has n elements.
