The installation of LaTeX is without problems, though, as it comes
with all good Linux distributions.

One could add that, as most arXiv.org articles are written with LaTeX,
and they provide their source with the articles, you can use them as
instructive examples of how to write with LaTeX. There are also global
and local Usenet groups on the matter.
