Great, great work from both of you, Zak and Edwin -- the
sequence is finite and I'm the most happy man in Brussels,
tonight ! I will send this stuff to Neil in January --and update
my page at the end of the year...
Best,
E.

Edwin,

This dirty code

a=49703;c=1001;Do[ida=a+10Mod[a,10];Do[b=ida+i;If[i==IntegerDigits[b][[1]],a=b;c++;Break[],If[i9,Print[a];Goto[en]]],{i,0,9}],{10000000}];Label[en];Print[{c,a,b,"end!"}]
99999945
{2137453,99999945,100000004,end!}

confirms your great result!

I didn't save sequence but may be it's also possible -
in case Eric needs it

I copy this to Eric and seqfans,
Zak
