According to A085801, there are open questions concerning the maximum number of non-attacking queens on an nxn toroidal board. However, pursuing the reference in A003989: Grant Cairns, Queens on Non-square Tori, Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, N6, 2001, it is claimed that this problem is solved. The reference for this is: P. Monsky, Problem E3162, Amer. Math. Monthly 96 (1989), 258-259.

Could somebody check this out? If it is correct, the comments in A085801 should be fixed, and it should be easy to extend A085801. (And, of course, the Monsky reference should be added to A085801.)
