A question on the search engine

First of all, let me say that I find the present serch engine
and results display simply great!

Said that, my question:

Is there a way to search for not-alphabetical characters,
i.e., to search strings like "n^n" or "n^3" or "n+p(n)" or even "!!" ?

That could be useful to find, for example, all the sequences
related to double factorials, etc.etc.

It seems to me that presently characters like ! or ^ are simply
stripped from the query.

It is not a serious issue, since I can always resort to the good'ol
grep on the whole database, but I wondered if there was an undocumented
trick to obtain the result.

giovanni.
