Annti:  the correct spelling for the abbreviation of "confer" is "cf."
- NOT c.f.


I just changed a large number of these - as i have had to
do may times before.


It means "compare"

It does NOT mean "see" - the abbreviation for that is "vid." (for "vide"),
but the simple word "see" is best

Example:

You often write "c.f. A012345 for the definition of ..."

this should be "cf. A012345 ...", or better, "see A012345 for the definition of ..."
