It depends on what you need.

For number-theoretical computations PARI/GP is the best:
http://pari.math.u-bordeaux.fr/

As a general-purpose math software Maxima may be more suitable:
http://maxima.sourceforge.net/

To deal with algebraic structures GAP has advanced features:
http://www.gap-system.org/

Polynomial rings may be easier to process in Singular:
http://www.singular.uni-kl.de/

All-in-one type of software is Sage:
http://sagemath.org/
