Inspired by Creighton Dement using floretions to derive the music in his
film "Floretions: Sights & Sounds," I decided to try to make a video of the
Ulam spiral that in some ways derives the sound from the concept being shown
graphically. So, each time 1 or a prime number appears on the screen, there
is a "sosumi" sound in the audio track, and a "tink" sound for each
composite number. (I was loath to darken 1 on account of its being the usual
starting point for the spiral). A sort of rhythmic arrhythmia develops. You
can watch (and hear) it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx24qqBc-PY There
are already several Ulam spiral videos on YouTube, links to some of which
appear after watching this one.
