Max,

Eric's formula doesn't work in Mma 4.0,

this is strange. Mma 4.0 says:
"ClassList[d] gives a set of representatives of the equivalence classes
under composition of binary quadratic forms a*x^2+b*x*y+c*y^2 of
discriminant d. It is assumed that d is a negative squarefree integer of
the form d=4k+1.

I understand that, at least, d should be negative, -d should be of the form
4*k+1 (k>=0),
and ***  ( -d)  should be squarefree   ***

                                                        detail, details,
always them details ...
Surely 148 is of a different species,

definitions might have changed over time,
and with the Higgs coming 'round the bend,
who knows what'll happen when maths finally turn fashion-aware,

Wouter.
