[seqfan] collatz like sequence

If f(x)= x/2 for x even and f(x)=3x-1 for x odd, then there is more than one
cycle, unlike the situation for the standard Collatz problem.

For example beginning with x=5 and iterating the function we get
5,14,7,20,10,5,...

I formed the sequence of concatenated cycles of f : 1,2,5,14,7,20,10, but
didn't find it in the encyclopedia.  Is this sequence interesting?
