Mr. Dale, you gave me the sequence of squares. My conjecture is:
(taken from http://oeis.org/A186080)

"If k^4 is a palindrome > 0, then k begins and ends with digit 1, all other
digits of k being 0."


Simmons verified it up to 10^14 (see the link on the A186080 page).

k^4 is a palindrome only for k = 1,11,101,1001,... (sequence taken from
http://oeis.org/A056810)
