Let me suggest an alternative approach.
(1) Make the labels on the left side of the graph be for a(n), not the
transformed value (i.e., 1000 instead of 3). Values greater than,
perhaps, 1 billion can be written in scientific notation.
(2) Use the qlog function for all sequences having values with large
absolute values.
(3) Label the graph as "Logarithmic Scale" Make that text a hyperlink.
(4) The hyperlink leads to a paragraph or two explaining the function
and why it is used.
The words "qlog" and "qlogarithm" appear nowhere in this.
