Joerg apparently likes my suggestion that the OEIS submission page 
should, like the
Wikipedia, accept ~~~~ (4 tildes) as a signature, which would expand to 
a properly
formatted submitter name and date, e.g., if I submit

sum(k = 1..n, a([n/k])) = 1. ~~~~

It goes in as

sum(k = 1..n, a([n/k])) = 1. [David W. Wilson, Feb 27 2012]

I think ~~~~ is pretty rare text, even in a mathematical context.

For most people, this would simplify signing their submissions. In my 
case, of course,
I would have to remember to add the tildes, but I suppose at this point 
in my life, it's
easier than remembering my name and date.
