In this case I would discard the old name entirely, since these are simply
different wordings. When the definitions are not obviously equivalent I do
preserve it as a comment.

Of the three I prefer the first, though the third has the advantage of
showing the similarity between the arguments. If you have no preference go
with the first (though maybe add A038107 to the xrefs).
