Yes,

but I still think that in these kind of cases it would be a good
etiquette to not to delete the original description (name) but move it
to the comments-section, even if it is "cryptic" or highlighting only
an irrelevant (or sometimes even frivolous) "application". Unless of
course the name is utterly wrong, but this is not always equal to the
"unintelligible to most people".

Because they might shed some light what the original authors had in
their mind with that or any related sequences, e.g. which belong to
the same "parameterized family".

E.g. with A144406, I would add to the comments-section:

Polynomial expansion as anti-diagonal of:
p(x,n)=(x-1)/(x^n*(-x+(2*x-1)/x^n). Based on the Pisot general
polynomial type q(x,n)=x^n-(x^n-1)/(x-1). [The original name of the
sequence].
