I agree.
But also, is it natural to start with {1,2} ?
I would find it more natural to consider
 {1}, {2}, {3,4}, {5,6,7, 8,9,10, 11} ...
with sums 1,2,7,56, 2212 ... :
seems to be A002658 ; see also A103410.)
