Thanks Richard for your definition of the sequence.

As an update...since the original post on this thread, I've received
off-list help to come up with the following name for the sequence:

"Conversion to octal of the binary expansion given by the first n terms of
the periodic sequence A011655 [0, 1, 1]"

The contribution has been allocated A289006 and is pending review by the
OEIS editors.
