This is not addressed to Russ - the new OEIS operating system is working
brilliantly

1. I think I have figured out how to tell if a page on our wiki is an
official approved page or not.

If a wiki page says "Quality" up at the top right, with (if you hover)
"This is the stable version" then it seems to be the official approved
version. Meaning, approved by me or one of the other bureaucrats.

But if a wiki page says "Approved page" up at the top right, with (if you
hover) "This is the latest approved version" then it is not yet the
official approved version, and to approve it I need to go to the foot of
the page, and click the "Approved" radio button. Then the label at the top
changes to "Quality".

(This is so unbelievably stupid that I can't believe it is correct.)

2. In the Deleted Sequences page on the wiki, if I add a line about a new
deletion and sign it with four tildes, then what happens is that the four
tildes get translated into

A296652 (Etienne) NOGI - N. J. A. Sloane (talk) 12:56, 9 February 2018 (EST)

as you can see by looking at the February deletions. The link to the
"talk" page is something new. Before the upgrade when I used four tildes
they just gave a link to my user page, not to a spurious "talk" page. Here
is an example:

A293212 (Monturiel) NOGI - N. J. A. Sloane 14:15, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

I suppose this is a feature, not a bug? Anyway, I have stopped using 4
tildes to sign wiki pages.

I know there are people on this list who speak mediawiki, maybe they can
explain what is going on.
