Neil,

Before recycling I decided to tried editing again and saving, and all
*appears* fine now.  I think the problem arose from a failure to enter an
offset.  After saving my second edit I noticed a not too obvious (on my
teeny tiny phone screen, at least) system complaint "malformed offset"
(i.e. '~').

It looks like if one navigates away with the edit in this state the result
is the odd behavior observed.
