AW: "The 19^4 case gives rise to Poulet's Substitution, which enabled Paul Poulet to discover several dozen multiply perfect numbers in 1925 (according to Wikipedia) or in 1929 (according to Achim Flammenkamp)."

I have one reference that in 1925 Poulet "reported the first two 8-perfect numbers". The 1929 date corresponds to Poulet's book, "La Chasse aux Nombres", which presumably summarized some of his findings.
