[seqfan] ADMIN ANNOUNCEMENT - Closing topics and threads before December 31st 2022

Dear Seqfan members.
My best wishes for the year 2023 and beyond.

This list exists since 1998. So we are reaching 25 years.
I was not expecting this at all when I first discussed this with Neil
and persuaded the University of Paris Computing Department to host me for a
few months.

I have a lot to fix on the server and system (the current version has been
online for 11 years)
and it will be more convenient to stop the mailing list and associated web
pages,
a few days for maintenance and test.

Please do not send anything to the list after today December 30st 8pm GMT
as it might be lost and close all current threads during the next few hours.
I will send a mail to everyone when normal operations of the Seqfan mailing
list resumes.

In particular the topic Binary Complement Sequences has far exceeded a
convenient
length. Please communicate privately about local progress and take the
habit to
post summaries of your exchanges to the list, with external links,
not just a bunch of ideas as they happen to you.

Do not forget that for a given topic, usually less than 1 per cent of the
list is
interested or engaged. Try to wait some time between writing and posting.
It does wonder.

The interest of the list lies in the ability to gather a few people on a new
subject and record it for future reference. More than 600 seqfan messages
are directly linked in the OEIS.

The purpose of the list is not to overwhelm hundreds of people with
temporary versions
and hourly reports of progress and investigations.

Be mindful of the whole community of subscribers.

Thanks to all of you for having been part of this list for so long
and see you again on January 1st 2023

With my best regards,

Olivier GERARD
