Should Neil add this to his Puzzle-page, with a comment
"Even world renown number theoreticists have been left baffled
by this sequence"... ??? ;-> (No harm intended).
Well, I didn't see it at either, but my simple Lisp-program
could solve it easily, if I added a bisection feature to it.

Here's a clumsy variant, how the originally given 7 terms could be continued:
2,3,5,5,8,7,11,18,18,29,10,16,26,26,42,15,24,39,39,63,...
