fascinating ...

maybe i will send him a note about riffs.
many years ago i had used riffs to code
a funny set of waveforms in a way that
was similar to fast fourier transforms.

on a related note, do you know why the pythagoreans
proscribed the consumption of beans, except for its
prescription in one special case, and what this all
had to do with their horror of irrationality?

on another note, i am finally documenting my old
program that uses "painted and rooted cacti" for
many different purposes, including the so-called
adaptive indexing of two-level formal langauges.
lists of lists of digits L c [0,9]** being one
example of this, i naturally stuffed a section
of the 1973 Handbook into it at one point, but
have lost the files by now.

work in progress here:

http://www.nexist.org/wiki/Doc5116Page

but this is an experimental web portal, often off-line
for updates & fixes, so try the next day if it's down.

good weekend,

jon
