Jon Grantham in his paper THE LARGEST PRIME DIVIDING THE MAXIMAL ORDER OF AN ELEMENT OF S_n, 1991,
(available on the net) said that he computed exact values of Landau function g(n) for n <= 500.000.

  Subject: Sequence of Landau's Function

  Mr. Wilson,

I?m a student working with a group that is studying the Landau function, and we noticed that you were listed on the following page:

http://www.research.att.com/cgi-bin/access.cgi/as/njas/sequences/eisA.cgi?Anum=A000793, which lists the first 47 values. We were wondering if you have an estimate as to how high the Landau function is known for. Whenever convenient, any information you could provide on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

  Thanks,

  Vernon Volpe
