A063977 and difference sets

36 is the first element of A063977 that is not of the form p^k + 1, p a prime.  That is more likely the property you are looking for.

It stops at 36 ... but they actually don't seem to have anything 
listed about (36, 1). 
 
Are these two sequences actually the same? If a number is in A063977, does 
that mean a difference set exists?
