Ivars Peterson writes about spidrons in an article in today's Science
News: Swirling Seas, Crystal Balls <http://www.sciencenews.org/
articles/20061021/bob11.asp>, with a link to Spidron <http://
www.spidron.hu/> and, more specifically, to Spidron Numerology
<http://www.szinhaz.hu/edan/prim/> which contains this intriguing
spidron construction:

It occurred to me that there might be some sequences for the OEIS in
this. For example, is the line going south-west from the center (1,
4, 25, 64, 121, ...) = A065733? Or the same line going north-east (1,
13, 43, 91, ...) = A082040? The spiral joins lattice points on a
hexagonal grid and it shouldn't be too difficult (though slightly
above my ability) to program the path and derive relevant sequences.
Anybody?
