Check where?  Many of us don't have access to any sort of
math library.  And, frankly, expecting contributors to make
even an on-line literature search is unrealistic.

The names and dates in the OEIS are who and when the
contribution to the OEIS was made, not the original discovery.

If you can claim prior discovery, I think the appropriate thing
would be for you to add a link and/or reference to the
entries in the OEIS.
