Dear njas,

Good explanation.

"you changed your email address. You used jvospost3 at gmail.com,
whereas the address I have listed for you is jvospost2..."

My Yahoo email account has been in limbo for several months. They
pre-emptively spontaneously degraded my account, including reducing
the quota and length of emails and attachments, and the level of spam
filtering. They emailed me notice that they had done so. That notice
was spam-filtered out by their own degraded spam filter, so I didn't
get it. Eventually, I was in dialogue with a customer service techie
person, where I pointed out that their request for a new credit card
number and birth date and social security number was, especially in a
spam-filtered email, a textbook match to Phishing. It took a week for
us to convince each other that we were probably who we said we were,
during which week I'd paid by a different credit card for a year's
re-upgraded service. At which point they said that my payment could
not be processed without my applying through their web system as if
this were a new account request, which I find inconsistent with the
circa 10,000 emails in the Yahoo email server archives from the past
near-decade which are utterly essential to my academic and
professional life, and only very partially backed up on my side.

This anomaly is known to seqfans, which does not (as I recall) accept
membership from people who email via Yahoo, but depends on trustworthy
gmail.

Bottom line: Yahoo has no concept at all of Customer Service, deserves
to be acquired by whomsoever has the gigabucks, and Gmail is no longer
my primary email account. And don't get me started on Hotmail, which
is worse than either, or Eudora...

Anyway, thanks again njas and seqfans. I'm trusting that my 2 latest
OEIS submissions are in normal processing, and am grateful for your
kind timely response and guidance.

Sincerely,

prof. Jonathan Vos Post
