[seqfan] Padovan sequence

Can anyone make sense of this?  a(n+4) is not 1 + 2 + ... + a(n), nor
is it a(1) + a(2) + ... + a(n), nor is it a(0) + a(1) + ... + a(n).
But I'm not willing to dismiss it out of hand; maybe there's a good
interpretation out there.
