I found the description

  A178789 Koch snowflake: number of angles after n iterations.

a bit hard to understand exactly what it counted.  I thought first
"angles" might mean how many angles could be made by taking points
pairwise, but that's bigger.

I take it it refers to "acute" angles, which are the pointy points,
which are the right hand turns when going clockwise.  Eg. n=3 ascii art
below "*" points are a(3)=18.  Perhaps the description could be extended
or clarified somehow.
